‘Never trust a man who, when left alone with a tea cosy, doesn’t try it on.’ Wise words, there. The wise words of Billy Connolly.

At the ripe old age of 72, the Glaswegian comedy hero is still going strong. Connolly has just announced his first London shows in five years: an 11-night stint of his 'High Horse Tour' at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith.

Connolly’s one of the all-time greats of stand-up. The shaggy-haired comic (nicknamed 'The Big Yin') was voted the best comedian of all time in a Channel 4 poll, has released dozens of records and DVDs and, in 2003, received both a Bafta lifetime achievement award and a CBE. Heck, he's even been in a Muppets movie.

Buy tickets for ‘Billy Connolly: High Horse Tour’ from 10am on Friday

Here’s a clip from the last time Connolly played London, back in 2010.
