If you've been dreading the 24-hour tube strike planned for the Piccadilly and Hammersmith and City lines this week, you can breathe a sigh of relief – because the whole thing has been cancelled. Hooray!
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union has called the strike off after 'successful talks' with London Underground. The union said that all objectives in the Piccadilly line dispute have been achieved and there are further talks planned to resolve issues on the Hammersmith and City line. So you won't have to spend Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning frantically trying to get an Uber or weeping into your oyster card. Phew.
