Camberwell is blessed with Theo’s, there’s a 400 Rabbits in Nunhead and East Dulwich has got neighbourhood fave Il Mirto and a Franco Manca – but nearby Peckham’s not had great luck with pizza (though The Gowlett’s divisively crispy pies are ever popular). That could be about to change, though, as pop-up pizza mavens Made of Dough are opening a first permanent site on Bellenden Road tomorrow (Friday June 9). What’s more, they’ll be dishing up half-price pizza all weekend to celebrate it. Gimme!
The new joint will be open seven days a week, serving pizzas made with 60-hour-fermented dough and topped with lovely stuff like Brindisa chorizo and Merguez sausage from the estimable Flock and Herd butchers across the road. Wash ‘em down with choice-sounding cocktails like an Amalfi lemon bellini or a Cointreau espresso martini (or a frankly aggressive sounding Jackpot Motherf*cking Peanut Butter gelato shake if you’re one for the sugary softies). Oh yeah, and they’ll be knocking 50 percent off all bottles of booze every Monday, too! Head quick-smart to SE15 for a slice of the action.
Made of Dough is at 182 Bellenden Rd, SE15 4BW. The 50 percent soft launch will be available all day from Fri Jun 9-Sun Jun 11.
