Food lovers with a keen sense of smell have already been anticipating new Covent Garden deli Cure & Cut. The sweet, spicy aroma of freshly sliced home-smoked pastrami is now whirling around Seven Dials and down Monmouth Street. This latest lunchtime choice has counter seating at street level and can fit 30 people in the sit-down basement space. To celebrate the opening, Cure & Cut is offering 50 percent off sandwiches, breakfast, salads and desserts from August 8 to 12.

Menu highlights include smoked bacon and cinnamon breakfast roll, pepper-cured Aberdeen Angus pastrami on rye sandwich, a roast beetroot salad with charred cauliflower, toasted pistachio, Nocellara green olives and crème fraîche and fig and honey muffin. They also serve craft beer, but if you’re not quite ready for that boozy lunch, there’s a selection of homemade sparkling cordials including pink elderflower, watermelon and grapefruit and cinnamon.

Just a friendly warning – some meaty fiends might go into sensory overload, as staff will be curing, spicing and smoking meats on site.

Find Cure & Cut at 36 Monmouth Street, WC2H 9DA. Open daily, 8am–9pm.
