Having a bad day? You're not alone. According to new data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS), London is a pretty miserable place. Over the last three years, the ONS has measured the wellbeing of more than 300,000 people across the UK, asking people to rate their happiness levels out of ten. The figures show that four out of five of the most unhappy places in the UK are in London, with Harrow coming in second place, followed by Westminister, Camden and Islington. But on the bright side, we managed to dodge scooping the number one spot for the most unhappy place in the UK – that accolade went to Wolverhampton. Phew.

The study also looked at levels of anxiety and 'life satisfaction' across the UK and found that, despite our glum faces, no London borough made it into the top five most anxious places in the UK. Although we didn't appear on the list of the top five least anxious areas either, so it's nothing to get too excited about. And if you want more doom and gloom, four out of five places in the UK with the lowest life satisfaction were in London, with Camden topping the list, which also included Wandsworth, Hackney and Lambeth. But we're in good company because guess who came in second place? Yep, our chirpy pals in Wolverhampton.

Find out which is the happiest borough in London (according to Twitter).
