It’s time to start planning for the weekend. Here are four parties that should be at the top of your agenda…
Gideon Reeling presents The Stigmarty
Brilliantly funny performance troupe Gideon Reeling bring their annual cabaret take on the Womens’ Institute to Bethnal Green this year. There’s plenty of interactive lols on a biblical theme at the start, and then a very wonky disco to follow until midnight.
Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. Wednesday and Thursday.
Prins Thomas
Space-disco don Prins Thomas, also known for his cosmic odysseys with fellow hairy Norwegian producer Lindstrøm, turns in an all-night set to transform The Pickle Factory into an obscenely groovy cosmic frenzy of disco, deep house and prime funky fodder.
The Pickle Factory. Friday.
Deviation with Metro Boomin
Benji B’s perennially excellent Deviation night goes for broke this week, as it moves into Camden’s Koko for the first of three live-focused club nights, tonight featuring a set from the insanely hot Metro Boomin. This young Atlantan producer made the beat for Taylor Swift’s favourite jam ‘Jumpman’ by Drake and Future, and if his last London set at Visions is anything to go by, this will be straight-up fire.
Koko. Saturday
Sofrito 10th Anniversary Special
‘Tropical rhythms with a base in modern club culture.’ That’s how this London label-stroke-party collective describe their sound. After ten years of spicy shows and wonderful releases, both old and new, from all over the world, the Sofrito team celebrate ten years at the forefront of the tropical party scene with a 5am-closing party in Hackney.
Shapes. Saturday.
