Need a bit of elbowing into the Crimbo spirit? Try one of these festive film pop-ups. Get booking, munchkins…

1. Winter Film Club at the Electric Theatre in Peckham

Right through December, outdoor cinema Rooftop Film Club is keeping warm in Peckham’s beautifully dilapidated Electric Theatre (before it gets developed into studio spaces). Transformed into a picture palace with plush velvet curtains and cockle-warming cocktails, films screening include Chrismassy classics ‘Elf’, ‘Home Alone’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life.’ Until Jan 6.

2. Backyard Cinema’s Winter Night Garden

Backyard Cinema continues its residency at the Mercato Metropolitano Italian food market. Push through a Narnia-style wardrobe and take a seat on a beanbag. Films include ‘Frozen’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’. Until Dec 23.

3. ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ at The Shard

For one night only The Shard will be showing the original ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ on Level 69, with spectacular views over the city. Your ticket includes access to Level 72, the open-air Skydeck. Dec 14.

4. Christmas Pyjama Party all-nighter at the Prince Charles

What better way to get into the Crimbo spirit than staying up all night in your jim-jams munching mince pies and watching six movies at London's most fun cinema, the Prince Charles. Dec 3.

5. St Kat’s Christmas Cinema

This mini-season of Christmas movies on the marina at lovely St Katherine Dock (a five minute stroll along the river from Tower Bridge), is outdoors on a floating pontoon. But fear frostbite not – the heaters will be cranked up and blankets provided. All you need to worry about is your mulled wine intake and keeping your eyes on the films and not the blingy yachts in the marina. Films include ‘Frozen’, ‘Die Hard’ and ‘Elf’. Dec 5-11.
