Literally anything that helps us to avoid central London during rush hour is a cause for celebration, so this comprehensive list of journeys that could be quicker to walk is a total godsend.

TfL has created this handy infographic listing all the journeys between stations, how long they take and roughly how many steps it'll take you (based on a 'moderate walking speed'), so if you're obsessed over your pedometer and you're in a rush, keep this PDF to hand, particularly during the dreaded 8am-9am and 5.30pm-6.30pm rushes. And in case you're wondering, a 15-minute walk burns about 60 calories. Just in time for the festive season, then.
