After four months, over 160,000 signatures, almost £320,000 donated and countless tweets – plus some behind-the-scenes talks – it's looking like Fabric is on course to reopen.
The club immediately gave thanks to the 'unparalleled support and generosity' they have received since their licence was revoked by Islington Council in September this year. In a Facebook post, the Fabric team wrote: 'So many different people stepped up to put their voices to our cause, artists from all corners of the music community, fellow promoters who have put on huge events from us and clubbers from around the world who all united behind us.'
It's true. You saved fabric 🙏🙏🙏https://t.co/FFaEApotyo pic.twitter.com/dPjxbXEmqt

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan broke the news earlier today with a tweet:
JUST ANNOUNCED: @fabriclondon will reopen. Thanks to all who helped find a solution that protects the club’s future & keeps clubbers safe.

And the internet went wild:
Ayyyyy Fabric has re-opened! That's sick!! A small win for our culture means a lot! @SadiqKhan catch you at the next DNB night yeah?🚀

DJ Yoda was happy but had a message for the internet:
Congratulations fabric! 🍾
— DJ Yoda (@DJYodaUK) November 21, 2016
Through this whole saga I've remained silent about people incorrectly capitalising the f in fabric. Now it's not so trivial I can speak out:

IT'S fabric NOT Fabric YOU TOSSERS
— DJ Yoda (@DJYodaUK) November 21, 2016
People from across the world seemed to be celebrating too:
Fabric Nightclub might be 16,000km away but it's reopening is a win for Dance music.
— Nick Constantin 📻 (@NickConstantin_) November 21, 2016
Even the neighbours were excited:
Potential fringe groups are already under construction:
Has anyone started a "Banned From Fabric Group" yet
— UK Basshunter (@capnjazzyjeff) November 21, 2016
While some people are concerned at the stricter controls that Fabric will be working under:
The surveillance state is so real can't even dance embarrassingly for a few hours without it being on CCTV footage 😭 #fabric

Those licensing conditions seem grim #fabric
— Maxwell (@MaxwellwithaK) November 21, 2016
Good that Fabric got its licence back... but reading the small print - it's a bit weird that you've got to hand your soul in at the door.

fabric's reopening as a genuine dystopian surveillance nightmare, what a victory for our culture!!
