Last month, plans were unveiled for a £2.25 billion refurbishment of Euston station – and it looks like the work can't start soon enough, as the place is desperately in need of sprucing up, having just been named the filthiest station in the country. A recent passenger satisfaction survey by watchdog Transport Focus found that 40 percent of people were unhappy with the cleanliness levels of Euston station, which was the lowest hygiene score of any UK train station operated by Network Rail. It's a pretty poor result considering the station is raking in £1.8 million per year from public toilets – you'd think they could at least splash out on a couple of bottles of Cif to keep the place looking vaguely clean.
