If you can brave icy temperatures, overcrowded trains and a good kettling in the name of New Year's Eve fireworks, then we salute you. But why not save yourself the hassle this year and live stream it instead? Because for the first time ever, you'll be able to take control of the camera angle so you can take in a 360-degree panoramic view of the fireworks without setting foot outside your front door.
The technology, created by BBC Taster, the Beeb's department for innovation and new ideas, offers Londoners uninterrupted views, so there's no need to be disappointed if you missed out on tickets this year. All you have to do is visit the BBC website on the night, tilt and pan your tablet or mobile device, or use the arrows keys on a laptop or PC, then sit back, (preferably with something boozy in hand) smug in the knowledge that you'll be ringing in the New Year all warm and toasty.
