Not content with being the undisputed queen of country music and an all-round great gal, Dolly Parton has now turned her hand to helping kids in Southwark learn to read. Is there anything she can't do?

Back in 1995, the singer launched a non-profit organisation The Imagination Library scheme, which is supported by the excellently named Dollywood Foundation and promotes childhood literacy across the world. The organisation has now teamed up with Southwark council on the first borough-wide scheme in London, which will provide free books to all children living in Southwark and born between December 1 2015 and December 31 2016. Children will be eligible for a free book every month from their birth until their fifth birthday. Nice one, Dolly!
