Riding the ArcelorMittal Orbit slide was on the bucket list of pretty much every Londoner this summer, but if you've already checked it off, there's a new adrenaline-charged Olympic Park activity you'll want to get marked up in your diary: you can now abseil down the 114.5-metre high sculpture. And unlike the twisty-turny journey down Carsten Höller's slide, scrambling down the sculpture will give you the opportunity to take in the epic views.
You'll ride the lift all the way to the top viewing deck so you can take in the panoramic views, then you'll be hoisted over the edge to make your jelly-legged way down to the bottom. Oh, and there's an on-the-ground safety briefing beforehand, of course.
If you think you've got the nerves for it, it'll cost you. You can abseil the Orbit for £85 per person and if you want to GoPro the experience, it's an extra £30. Book online at www.arcelormittalorbit.com or on 0203 198 0407.
