As heartbreaking news continues to pour in from Syria, we're all looking for ways to help. After you've gathered all you can to send to Calais, you might like to look at attending a worthy event to show your support – these food-focused gatherings are a great way to learn more about the country, its people and its cuisine. Make sure to give generously.

Peardrop London will put on a three-course Middle Eastern menu made with seasonal British ingredients on Nov 13 in Hackney, with cocktails and dancing to follow.

The Syrian Supperclub Collective host events which will leave you with a deeper insight on Syria and its people with music, entertainment and lots of food. They support Aid All Syrians.

Love Brunch with John Gregory-Smith will serve shakshuka, honey and ricotta pancakes and plenty more at his Levantine brunch on Nov 29.
