The London restaurant scene is crying out for a dedicated cracker restaurant. Said nobody ever. Well, Jacob’s Crackers in their infinite wisdom have provided one – and it actually looks kind of amazing (if you like crackers, obviously).

Opening on Thursday June 22 for two days only, the Cracker Restaurant will be offering an exclusive lunch and dinner ‘tasting’ menu served entirely on Jacob’s lunchtime crackers. Best of all, it's totally free. Five and six courses respectively, the menus have been devised – bizarrely – by Blur bassist Alex James. He’s a cheesemaker these days so we kind of get the whole cheese-and-crackers connection, but still. Amazing.

Dishes are set to include a special brunch-style offering of poached eggs, as well as a Jacob’s spin on beans on toast. The dinner service promises ‘British classics with a twist’ including prawn cocktail and roast beef. The event is officially sold out right now, but there's another round of (free) tickets up for grabs via the link below from 10am on Monday morning. You heard it here first.

The Cracker Restaurant will launch on Thu Jun 22 at 35 Neal St, WC2H 9PR. It's currently sold out but more tickets will be available from 10am on Mon Jun 19 via this link
