City envy: LA has an incredible ‘Infinity Mirrors’ exhibition and it’s giving us FOMO

When Yayoi Kusama rocked up to London’s Victoria Miro gallery last year, you lot couldn’t get enough of her psychedelic pumpkins.

No, we’re not being crass, the boundary-pushing Japanese artist literally filled the space with the dazzling vegetables, using mirrors to create an ‘infinity room’ – a never-ending vision of brightly coloured gourds that London went Instagram-mad for.

Now, Kusama’s got an entire exhibition of infinity rooms at achingly cool Downtown LA gallery The Broad, and we’re just about ready to hop on a plane out of sheer FOMO.

Filling the rooms with dazzling lights, giant, pink spotted balls, and even one interactive exhibition that invites attendees to leave brightly coloured dots all over a blank space, it’s a visual wonderland stretching as far as the eye can see.

To infinity and beyond!

Lucky enough to be headed to LA? ‘Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors’ is at The Broad until January 1 2018. Tickets cost $30.
