As if the prospect of a headline set by the mighty Sigur Rós weren’t enough, Citadel Festival have just added a sweet clutch of musicians to the line-up for their second year this July 17. Dan Snaith’s heart-on-sleeve synth project Caribou returns to Victoria Park, there are rootsy sounds from Nathaniel Rateliff and Calexico, Submotion Orchestra and Battles bring the brainy wig-outs and Lianne La Havas’s pristine soul-pop should be just the thing for a sunny day. Tinariwen summon up their stormy desert blues jams and Andrew Weatherall and The 2 Bears are DJing as part of a special Fabric Sunday session.

As well as the new musical additions Citadel has just revealed its culture, food and drink offerings for 2016, including a pop-up Kopparberg cider forest, the ever-popular Sunday Papers Live, long-table feasts by Michelin-starred chef Stephen Harris, the return of the comedy tent and a new theatre stage, and lots more festival delights from yoga to roller disco. Get your skates on and book your Citadel tickets today.
