Londoners love fried chicken, whether it's posh buttermilk-coated organic drumsticks or a bucket of Chicken Cottage's finest (preferably consumed around 4am), we're into it. But sadly, all that glorious fried food isn't exactly great news for the old arteries. Here to change that is socially conscious chicken shop Chicken Town - having successfully smashed its crowdfunding target back in May earlier this year, the restaurant is finally opening its doors in Tottenham on Monday. The not-for-profit enterprise is hoping to lower obesity rates by serving free range chicken that's been steamed and swiftly flash-fried in high quality oil, as well as healthy sides including baked sweet potato wedges, fresh coleslaw and salads. They'll be offering £2 'junior specials' during the daytime and operating as a sit-down restaurant in the evening.

Chicken Town is at The Old Fire Station, Town Hall Approach Road, N15 4RX.
