There aren’t many shoes worthy of an anniversary celebration, but when the first pair of Dr. Martens rolled off the production line on April 1 1960, not only was a new kind of utility boot created, but an entirely fresh attitude – expressed simply by what was on your feet.
So, April 1 is Dr. Martens Day, and to mark this, their London stores will be giving you a present. From April 1 to April 8, if you purchase a pair of Originals shoes or boots you’ll be handed a copy of their brand book ‘Dr. Martens: A History of Rebellious Self-Expression’ (worth £10).
The Original Icons range is still at the heart of the collection but don't forget to check out the new spring/summer looks at their London stores: the 386 Oxford Street flagship, branches at Carnaby Street, 17-19 Neal Street in Covent Garden, Spitalfields, or the shop at Westfield Stratford.
We haven’t baked Dr. Martens a cake, but to celebrate in our own way, we’ve teamed up with them to offer you the chance to win tickets for Festival No. 6 PLUS £200 to spend in any Dr. Martens store. Check out this amazing competition right now.
