The celebrities are just queueing up to work with Belgian super-director Ivo van Hove these days: he’s currently helming ‘Obsession’ at the Barbican, starring Jude Law, and later this year he’ll be directing ‘Breaking Bad’ man Bryan Cranston in a stage adaptation of the classic ‘70s film ‘Network’ at the National. Next year, though, as reported by trusted showbiz spy Baz Bamigboye, he’ll be going right to the top of the A-list: he’s landed Cate Blanchett to star as ageing Broadway star Margo Channing – aka the role made famous by Bette Davis – in a West End version of the classic 1950 drama ‘All About Eve’. A theatre and on-sale date have yet to be announced, but it’s reported that it’ll be a co-production with the powerhouse Sonia Friedman Productions and will take place in spring 2018 – and it’ll be a very, very hot ticket.
