Spice Girls fans – we’ve got big news for you. The Mighty Hoopla festival is offering megafans the chance to ride a version of the bus from a modern classic, 1997’s ‘Spice World’, on June 4. Just to prevent any legal funny business – the actual, genuine bus from the film is currently parked up in a Bristol marina.
Mighty Hoopla is a giant love-in of popular London club nights, with Sink The Pink, Guilty Pleasures, Ultimate Power and Masseoke all hosting tents across Victoria Park. It will also be a massive ‘90s and ‘00s nostalgia fest with All Saints, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Will Young performing live. Start the time machine early by singing along to all the Spice hits with on-board tribute act The Wannabes while sipping on bubbly and rustling through a goodie bag of ‘previously-endorsed-by-the-Spice-Girls’ booty – which all sounds way better than squeezing onto a crowded, regular, non-spice-y bus.
The decked-out double decker will leave from Clapham Grand and travel to Victoria Park, arriving just in time for the festival’s kick-off. Find more details on the festival here.
There’s no mention of any pressure to dress up in a, say, sporty, posh, scary, baby or ginger style but you probably won’t be alone if you do.
