Summer in London is a double-edged sword. Obviously, glorious sunshine is hugely preferable to the usual dreary grey skies, but you know what's not fun? Travelling to work in what is essentially a moving sauna, as temperatures on the tube reach hotter than the sun (we're looking at you, Central line). But that could all change soon, as Boris Johnson has revealed that tube carriages are finally getting air conditioning.

In his last ever Twitter Q&A as mayor, BoJo confirmed that TfL's engineers have 'cracked' air conditioning on deep-level Underground trains. What took them so long? We don't know, but we'll have to face a few more sweaty summers yet as it won't be in action until the early 2020s.
