A 24-year-old student from London is urgently looking for more bone marrow donors from mixed-race backgrounds after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia last month. Lara Casalotti is of Italian, Chinese and Thai heritage so it's been tough for her to find a match as only three percent of registered donors are mixed race. And to make things more challenging, she's been told she'll need to have a bone marrow transplant by April.
Lara's family has done an amazing job in spreading the word, and thanks to their #match4lara campaign, over 10,000 people have signed up to the Anthony Nolan bone marrow donor register in just three weeks. But until Lara finds a suitable donor, she still needs our help.
