What with the no talking on the tube, no eye contact on the street and no standing on the left side of the escalator, London can be pretty alienating, and not just for visitors. Thankfully, someone's doing something about it.
A team of Airbnb hosts will be setting up home at 7 Fournier Street, Spitalfields for four days and throwing the door wide open to anyone who wants to come say hi. The aim for the #LiveThere House is to encourage a bit more friendliness in the city and flaunt some truly London experiences. Not only can you just pop in for a tea, but No 7 will also be a site of free activity from this Thursday June 16 to Sunday June 19. Here's what's going down:
Thursday: Cake-making with Dinner Ladies, sup beer from Clapton Craft and dance to DJ Bradley Zero.
Friday: Tie-dye workshop with Lizzie King, healthy treats from Rosie and London-inspired cocktail making class with Andrew Shannon.
Saturday: Early morning 5k run with Coach Becs, design and print a t-shirt with Kelly Anna, punch-making class with Dominik Prosser.
Sunday: Sunday roast, photography lesson and spoken word performance from James Massiah.
Now that's a house party!
Doors open from 10.30am-9pm at 7 Fournier Street, E1 6QE. Find out more on blog.airbnb.com.
