We’d only just stopped reeling (drunkenly) from the news that Oxford Street is getting a negroni machine, when the cocktail Gods went and raised the bar. An actual negroni fountain will be flowing in east London by June 5, to coincide with Negroni Week.
The fountain is the brainchild of East London Liquor Company, and it’ll be springing up in a ‘negroni oasis’ the bar is creating on its patio, a little jungle made from the botanicals that go into the ELLC’s No. 2 gin, a negroni staple. We’re already imagining ourselves reclining in a haze of lavender, thyme and sage, while planning the best way to stick our heads into that fountain.
This could be a challenge, though – the East London Liquor Company has hinted that the fountain may be purely decorative. Sounds like torture? Don’t panic: there will be a bar serving negronis on tap, so there is no way you will be sitting by that fountain empty handed.
The Negroni Fountain will be at East London Liquor Company, 221 Grove Road, E3 5SN, from Jun 5-11.
