A man is recreating classic film scenes with his cats

If you thought ET was cute wrapped in a blanket on the front of Elliott’s bike, try the exact same scene reenacted with a cute Burmese cat. The image appears on new Instagram account Movie Cats, in which a man from Nottingham is working his way through memorable movie moments featuring his cats Tara and Willow.

It started when Dave Chapman took a picture of Tara – or was it Willow? – as ET for the TV and film round of a pub quiz he was organising. Since then, the mogs have posed for scenes from ‘Lady and the Tramp’, ‘Ghost’ and ‘Alien’. The results are hilarious, adorable, and in the case of the ‘here’s Johnny’ scene from ‘The Shining’ a little bit freaky. Dave has been discussing his stars’ dedication to their art on the cat website Love Meow. 'The cats clearly think we're weird, but they get loads of treats doing it which tends to be their main focus.'
