Forget The Leaky Cauldron, a real-life wizarding inn is coming to London. And hold on to your (sorting) hats, because it’s promising actual magic.
Called, imaginatively, The Cauldron, this pub is billing itself as part boozer, part tech lab. Sounds like geeky paradise, doesn’t it? Customers will be given a touch-sensitive magic wand on entry – you’ll be able to use it to light a fire, turn on the lights and even pour yourself a pint. There’ll also be moving photographs and levitating candles, and the menu will be a roll call of dishes inspired by Potterworld (pumpkin tart, anyone?). There’s even a cocktail called Liquid Luck.
Unfortunately, The Cauldron isn’t set to open until 2018. They’re launching a Kickstarter to fund the pub from Monday June 26, though, and there’ll be regular ‘wizarding hackathons’ where fans can come together and invent magic that will become part of The Cauldron’s ‘wizarding tech’. We’re not sure we’ll be up to the tech part, but we love the sound of those magically refilling pints. Reckon we can time travel to 2018?
The Kickstarter for The Cauldron will launch on Monday June 26. Find out more here.
