You’ve seen the films (multiple times), you know the Harry Potter tour routes better than the tour guides, you’ve downed a slightly disappointing butterbeer at the Harry Potter Studios, you’ve had your picture snapped pushing half a trolley into Platform 9 3/4 with one leg in the air. So, what’s next for diehard Potter fans? How about going back to HP’s roots with a book club?
Prepare to feel very old, as Wizard Book Club is launching just in time for the twentieth anniversary of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, the book that got us all hooked on quidditch and hoping for a letter from Hogwarts. Attendees will get to enjoy a chapter-by-chapter read-through, ‘fun wizarding games’ and ‘wizarding snacks’, of course. Plus, it’s the perfect place to meet like-minded Potter obsessives, so you can give your housemates a break.
In keeping with the wizarding spirit, the location is being kept under wraps until one week before the event. Well, we wouldn’t want the muggles finding out, would we?
Tickets are £25 to join and £15 thereafter. The first book club is hosted on June 20. Find out more here.
Still potty for Potter? The British Library is hosting Harry Potter: A History of Magic to mark the anniversary.
