Torrential downpours notwithstanding, summer is definitely (probably) a-coming. What better time, then, for arch Belgian eclair-maker and all round sweet fella Pierre Marcolini to reveal his sunny, summery collection of chocolates and – wait for it – DIY ice creams?

That’s rhetorical, obvs – there is no better time, and we’re pretty damn excited over the imminent big reveal of the Esquimau Choc Ice Bar at PM’s Marylebone boutique. The premise is simple: choose one of four ice creams or two sorbets (vanilla, chocolate, caramel, white sesame, mango or raspberry), then dip it in one of six toppings, including milk choc, toasted hazelnut and fleur de sal (a delicate sea salt), white chocolate and toasted sesame, and smoked dark chocolate (that one for us, monsieur!). And then hand over a mere £4. But no double dipping, unfortunately.

The Esquimau Choc Ice Bar will be open from Thursday June 1 ‘til the end of August. Pierre Marcolini is located at 37 Marylebone High St, W1U 4QE.

Can’t wait a couple of weeks? Fair enough – just check out our list of London’s best ice cream in the interim.
