A Chinese restaurant in Clerkenwell is doing 10p takeaway this Thursday

Love takeaway but too broke to order it? This Thursday Hungry House is celebrating 110 years since the first Chinese restaurant arrived in our fair city by offering a special Chinese takeaway menu for 10p – roughly the price an Edwardian Londoner would have paid in 1907.

Available exclusively at Clerkenwell Chinese takeaway Mr Chan’s over lunchtime, the ‘throwback takeaway’ menu features six 10p dishes – including chop suey, Chinese mushrooms and ginger and spring onion – all served with rice and your choice of chicken, beef or tofu. Sounds amazing. We’re definitely not packing lunch.

The 10p Throwback Takeaway Lunch special is available from 12-2.30pm at Mr Chan’s, 21 Clerkenwell Rd, EC1M 5RD.
