The tagline to this popular Finsbury Park venue is ‘nice people dancing to good soul music’, and on our visits that pretty much nails it. It’s a good-looking place too, kitted out in vintage bits and bobs including awesome retro oil lamps, a dazzling mirror ball and a chequered floor that can look a bit trippy under the lights, when the night gets late.
The curation actually goes beyond soul music, with Jazz Jam (hosted by Bukky Leo Quartet) every Tuesday proving reliably popular, alongside reggae nights, alternative dancefloor classics, and gigs from guests ranging from punk to funk, Motown and more. In short? Keep an eye on the calendar to see what tickles your biscuits. Recommended.
