This traditional two-floor pub is popular with a crowd of beer-drinking, blokey gay men, though it's less cruisey than similar venues like the nearby Compton's. Downstairs is a decent-sized drinking space with more standing room than seats; upstairs is a cosier lounge bar that can be hired for private events. The ambience is more chilled than many Soho venues, but it fills up quickly on Friday nights and weekends. The Duke of Wellington is well known for its Wednesday pub quiz hosted by a pair of much-loved local drag queens.
