Sol’s

Situated on a quiet little Bayswater backstreet just a few minutes’ walk from Hyde Park, Sol’s is an Iberian-inspired delicatessen and wine bar from Wendover Partners, the design studio behind Margate’s recently (and stunningly) refurbished Fort Road Hotel. Bright, airy and decked out in natural woods, it’s exactly as chic as one would expect given those credentials, with travertine flooring, an imposing central table and large sash windows which rise onto external counter seating perfect for warm summer evenings. Seasonal produce, cheese, charcuterie and pantry provisions are available to take away, alongside a solid list of low-intervention European wines curated by food writer Mina Holland. These can be enjoyed alongside sandwiches and salads during the daytime, with a simple, seasonal menu Mediterranean-inspired small plates – think gildas, tortillas, pan con tomate and prosciutto di parma – on offer come the evening.
