If your idea of gay life was shaped by TV’s , Rupert Street is the bar for you. It’s a little bit of Manchester’s Canal Street in the heart of Soho. Trapped in the ’90s, the decor is all industrial, boiler-room chic, with glass wraparound windows and a large mirror at the back. The staff are beefy and brisk and the clientele is more smartly dressed than average. Popular with the after-work crowd, it gets even busier later on – and also very cruisey.
