This popular Brick Lane spot is a bit of a beacon for London’s jazz and dance music scenes, with a programme combining the best emerging talent with artists already boasting more than decent pedigree. And that curation is given plenty of room to shine from a Funktion One sound system that’s often heralded as one of the best in London. And if you want more? The people behind it are key players in the excellent Brick Lane Jazz Festival, too. In short, these guys know what they’re up to where music is concerned.
There’s a lot of effort put into the drinks list, too. Expect a good selection of cocktails (if you want a kick, try the Midnight Fox – a mix of Makers Mark, Kraken, Cazcabel coffee, mango syrup and chocolate bitters), a well thought-out wine list, and a really solid list of beers, including drops from Signature Brew, Goodness Brew Co and Brick Lane.
There’s a great outside area, too – definitely worth getting there early in summer.
