Hare & Billet

5 out of 5 stars

Time Out says

With Greenwich’s Meantime Brewery becoming a global colossus beloved of Waitrose customers up and down the land, good on the Hare & Billet for offering some craft beer alternatives to the residents of Blackheath and SE10. Always a decent local boozer, the H&B’s crafty reinvention has made it something quite special.

Small London breweries are well represented on the pumps, which might feature Brockley Brewery’s Red Ale; there are kegs from the likes of Wales’s Tiny Rebel and a good bottled selection from Beavertown, Kernel, Partizan, Weird Beard, plus some US visitors such as Evil Twin and Brooklyn. In summer, take your ale on to the heath, and it’s like the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and noughties never happened.
