With a menu full of German and Austrian classics – as well as plenty of Champagne and decadent cocktails – visit Engel Bar for a throwback to 1920s Berlin. Try an eye-popping Der Blaue Engel, made with curaçao liqueur, or a savoury Trüffel-Martini (yep, that’s a truffle martini), and pair it with pretzels, pork schnitzels, and maybe even caviar if you’re feeling especially lavish. Midweek, you can also while the night away listening to the cabaret acts that Engel welcomes every Wednesday.

Time Out says
Located up on the mezzanine and out on the terrace of the iconic Royal Exchange building in the heart of the City, Engel is a venue inspired by the golden age of 1920s Berlin.
A decade marked by opulence, extravagance, and unfettered glamour.
By day Engel serves a delicious all-day food menu alongside teas and coffees but by night it's all about modern, classic and vintage cocktails, together with live entertainment influenced by the cabaret scene of the time.
The name Engel - “angel” in German - is a tribute to “Der Blaue Engel,” a 1930s film starring Marlene Dietrich.
While celebrating the past, Engel is very much a venue for today with contemporary serves and sounds interlaced with 20s classics.
