Can London have too many craft beer houses? The people behind this mini-chain of pubs don’t seem to think so, striking while the iron is still hot and opening a new branch near Chancery Lane. And it looks like they are on the money – the new Draft House was busy, buzzy and just on the right side of sweaty when I visited. The decor obviously didn’t tax the interior designer’s imagination – exposed ducts on the ceiling and two huge copper vats dominate the bar – but nobody’s complaining, especially since there’s outside seating if the inside doesn’t do it for you.
With 13 beers on tap and countless bottled brands, most favourites will be represented in some shape or form. As such, it’s worth seeking the advice of the knowledgeable staff who seem more than happy to help you out with a taster. Or you could just take advantage of the fact that at Draft House you can buy beer in third and two-third pints as well as halves and full pints. So why not spread the love a little?
