This Covent Garden wine bar, restaurant and enoteca on Slingsby Place has a firm focus on wine – there are almost 500 bottles, most of them Italian and more than 30 of them available by the glass. As an enoteca, each of the bottles is available to take away, too.
It's certainly a long list, with French wines and Champagnes alongside a selection of new world bottles complementing a vast array of Italian options sourced from independent producers in Umbria, Tuscany, Sicily, Sardinia, Lombardy and Piedmont, to name a few. Ports and dessert wines also feature.
And to line the stomach? Think beef tartar, wild mushroom and truffle oil risotto, lasagne Bolognese and a ravioli of ricotta, spinach, butter and sage alongside antipasti, charcuterie platters, cheese boards and, incongruously, a mezze selection.
