Dating back to 1731, this grade II-listed Soho boozer was known as The Coach & Horses until the 1990s, when it had a fabulous revamp to become much-loved drag and queer cabaret spot Molly Moggs, which sadly closed in 2017. After a brief spell as The Compton Cross, in 2019 it reverted back to its original name, despite being only a very short stumble away from the Greek Street Coach & Horses, thus confusing legions of drinkers. Run by the Britain’s oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame, this one attracts a more touristy crowd than its rival, but the bar staff are friendly and the beer selection is pretty decent.
