Please note, Cecil's has now closed. Time Out London Editors, Oct 2017.
There's a '30s feel to this two-floor London Bridge cocktail joint, DJ bar and live music space - so expect staff and guests to look quite the dapper or flapper part. This is especially true of those party people swinging their way along to one of the Uff Tea Merchants' parties - immersive events hosted at Cecil's. But if you're just popping down? Don't feel like you have to dress up - everybody's welcome.
Cocktails play a prominent part in all the revelry. Many pay homage to 1930s Shanghai, with yuzu shu fizzes (Portobello Road gin shaken with yuzu shu and fino sherry and poured with lemon, sugar and club soda) to New York of the Wests (Maker's Mark with umeshu and Mandarine Napoléon) and opium tears - Portobello Road gin shaken twice with fresh ginger, Maraschino, sugar, lemon and egg white.
Keep an eye out for regular live music nights and special events, too. Plus there's a Mediterranean bar menu, should you get peckish.
