Beneath a row of flags topping the stern, stylish Covent Garden Hotel, this bar-restaurant offers a lovely environment in which to sip drinks and munch on snacks – but at a price.
The tone is set by an ice bucket of Krug on the bar counter; however, the fine cocktails, old-school martinis and updated classics such as the Covent Garden Mojito (with blood-orange purée), may be a better bet. The wine list is good but, like everything else here, it’s not cheap.
Platters (£25!) come in Asian, Mediterranean, dumpling and mini-burger varieties. Waiters squeeze their way between the half-moon chairs from the zinc bar in a bid to create a brasserie atmosphere.
