This Fortis Green pub is certainly spacious: the purpose-built dining room is nothing if not capacious, with a look that apes classic gastropub decor; the bar area – also pretty big – has the feel of a traditional pub, although one that's nicely kitted out. There's a garden, too, complete with a huge sycamore tree.
The food changes seasonally, but it sticks to the gastropub vibe. Expect, then, dishes that might include pan-fried organic salmon with crushed Jersey royals, wild garlic and hollandaise, roast corn-fed chicken breast with dauphinoise, asparagus and sunflower seeds, and Creedy Carver duck breast with roast fennel, heritage carrots and black olives.
There's a good selection of draught beer, though many customers take advantage of the choice of 16 wines by the glass.
