Time Out says

Rewatched Braveheart recently? Then you’ll be familiar with William Wallace – the Scottish patriot who went to war with the English at the end of the 1200s. This plaque in Farringdon was put up in 1956 in memory of Wallace, and marks the spot where he is reported to have been hung for treason, before being drawn and quartered. Ouch.
