Those who have dared to enter the London Dungeon recount tales of medieval torture devices, haunted pubs and a gut-churning drop ride. But you haven't had the full experience until you've taken part in the terrifying séance – their brand new show for Halloween 2024...

This spooky season could see you speaking with the dead via Ouija board at London Dungeon's scariest show to date, complete with a medium and paranormal sightings. But if you don't feel like crossing the boundaries between life and the supernatural world, then feel free to play it (sort of) safe with one of the other interactive shows, a trip to the on-site tavern or a go at the Guy Fawkes-themed escape room.

Whatever you choose, you're in for one hell-uva ride. Here's our list of the best (and scariest) things you'll come across inside the London Dungeon this Halloween.

Reasons to visit the London Dungeon

1. The Halloween séance

If you can handle horror movies like a champ, rarely fall for a jump scare and are even fearless enough to sleep with your leg outside the duvet, you may just about be able to brave the London Dungeon's seasonal séance. Billed the attraction's scariest show yet, you'll be summoning spirts with the help of a medium in hopes of conjuring up an appearance from a ghostly figure named Mary Ann Cotton – a notorious murderer from the 1800s. Expect blackouts, levitating objects and blood-curdling screams (maybe even from you)...

Exclusive for Halloween 2024, running from 18th October. Included in standard ticket price

2. The deadly drop ride

Free fall into the unknown with the London Dungeon's iconic drop ride themed around the gallows that sealed the fate of Newgate Prison inmates. Known for scrambling guts and setting off a chorus of harrowing screams, this ride isn't for the faint hearted; strap yourself in and await the sudden surprise drop that could come at any moment.

3. The torture chamber

Find out what pain and punishment looked like in the 1600s as you're faced with the cruel and unusual methods used to put victims in their place. Get up-close and personal with the torture devices of the past and get the lowdown on what makes people scream, squirm and suffer from none other than the disturbingly talented torturer.

4. The courtroom

It's Judgement Day in the London Dungeon's courtroom as the criminal masterminds of the group will be exposed through questioning at the docks. Confess your sins and have your fare decided by the right and honourable Lord Wendy Farquar, who hasn't been known to let people off lightly...

5. Jack the Ripper

Arguably the Dungeon's most notorious attraction, the Ten Bells pub is open for business (and muderous antics) as Jack the Ripper roams the streets of Whitechapel, ready to take his next victim. The owner of the pub is just dying to tell punters the ultimate ghost story, as well as tales of the famous killer and who he really is.

6. The Tavern

All that screaming made your throat a little dry? Good thing The Tavern – London Dungeon's resident watering hole – is the last pit stop of the tour. Settle into a cosy cushioned chair and get your heart rate down after all those scares – with a drink in hand, of course. The menu features beers, spirits (thankfully not the paranormal kind...) and themed cocktails from Hex on the Beach to the punchy Ripper's Revenge. Mocktails are also available and equally as delicious as their boozy equivalent.

Want even more of a fright?

The Guy Fawkes escape room

On top of a standard entry ticket, you can pay extra to try your hand at the escape room experience of nightmares; gather your most cunning comrades, as you'll all have just one hour to sneak past the gaurds and out of your cell in the Tower of London, which you're being held in for conspiring against the king with Guy Fawkes. Follow clues and solve puzzles in order to break free – and preferably do it before the gaurds catch you, or you'll be in for a gruesome fate.

£120 per room (up to 6 people)
