Time Out says

The garden, which was designed and planted by author Lucy Boston, surrounds a 12th-century manor house on which the Green Knowe books are based. It comprises four acres with over 200 old roses, an extensive collection of irises including Cedric Morris varieties, topiary, and herbaceous borders with mainly scented plants. There is a meadow with mown paths and it's enclosed by river, moat and wilderness. The house is open by appointment.
