A small observatory in south London, which is still a stellar spot to go starry-eyed over belts and dippers. The site is open to the public every Saturday (in good weather). Go to have a mosey around its domes and 14-inch telescope while getting a look at all the astral razzle-dazzle. The observatory is kept cold and dark to facilitate sparkler-spotting, so wrap up warm and bring a torch. Make sure to ring ahead (up until 5pm) on Saturdays to make sure the opening will be going ahead.
Entry is free, but donations to the Croydon Astronomical Society who run the observatory are very welcome.
