The museum is based in the historic buildings and grounds of Headstone Manor, a Grade I listed medieval estate. The moated 14th century manor house, originally home to the Archbishop of Canterbury, can be visited on guided tours (Sat & Sun, 2.30-3.30pm, till Oct 29; £2.50). There's also a tithe barn dating from 1506, an 18th-century granary and a small 16th-century barn.
