From Yoshihiro Suda’s wooden sculptures of weeds that appear to have grown around the radiator taps to Mateo López’s stairs that lead to nowhere, this group show creates limitless possibilities from the reality and illusion of habitable space. Inspired by Claes Oldenburg’s 1964 exhibition, ‘The Home’, the artists featured in ‘The House’ deal with abstracting the everyday to skew our perception — you’ll certainly never look at a toaster, door or that crumbling bit of skirting board the same again.
Artists included are Urs Fischer, Robert Gober, Richard Hamilton, Donald Judd, Sherrie Levine, Mateo Lopez, Jorge Pardo, Gregor Schneider, Thomas Schütte, Yoshihiro Suda, Franz West and Rachel Whiteread.
The exhibition has been extended until Aug 29. Summer opening times are Tue-Fri 10am-5pm, closed Fri Aug 22.
