Susan Hiller: Ghost/TV

When Susan Hiller passed away in January 2019, planning was underway for her fifth solo show at Matt's Gallery. The postponed exhibition, which has since been developed with the help of Hiller's son Gabriel Coxhead, now comes to the London gallery in slightly different form. One of the main works on display is 'Running on Empty', an eery collection of vintage television sets originally programmed to play reports of near-death experiences that took on an odd life of its own when one of the televisions started transmitting unexpected messages.
